Pastor M. Troy Smith is the Senior Pastor of Solid Word Bible Church (SWBC),
located on the North Westside of Indianapolis, IN. As pastor, his main
passion is to equip and edify the body of Christ through the expositional
preaching and teaching of Gods Word. Pastor Smith demonstrates godly
leadership through his family, congregation, and community. Solid Word Bible Church had its inaugural service on April 2, 2000. At that time the only members of the church were Pastor Smith and his wife. Over a five year period the church has grown to approximately 400 members. This rapid growth is evidence of this unique leadership and his reliance on the Lords guidance. Likewise, he has fostered greater attendance of two parent households and the participation of men in ministry which is a significant step toward building solid families. In the fall of 2003 Pastor Smith was the youngest speaker to speak at the Evangelical Free Church of America Great Lakes District leadership conference. He has traveled to Ghana, Africa and served as keynote speaker for the Overseas Council of America Institute for Excellence, a leadership training institute for seminary leaders in third world counties. Pastor Smith is a native of Springfield, OH, and a graduate of Springfield South High School. He received a full athletic scholarship to play football for Ball State University, and graduated with a degree in History Education. He received his theological training at Crossroads Bible College of Indianapolis and will continue his master of divinity studies at Trinity Evangelical Seminary in Deerfield, IL. IN addition, he has received Biblical counseling training through the National Association of Nouthetic Counseling (NANC) located in Lafayette, IN. Before starting Solid Word, Pastor Smith served two years as an associate Pastor of ministries at Eastern Star Church in Indianapolis. Pastor Smith married his college sweetheart, Angela E. Smith in October of 1994. They now have five wonderful children, Troy Kristopher, Morgan Tralease, Andrew Emery, Aaron Emmanuel, and Markus Timothy.
